Seven maps of imagined ground. Seven tones in sand.
Every plate here is drawn by code: the Contour Plates from a recipe and a seed, the Sound Plates from a single tone. Each one is set at full size for posters, shirts, and hoodies.

Seven kinds of ground
Topographic maps drawn by code. Each plate starts from a real kind of ground, from a plateau cut by hollows to a crater on the far side of the Moon, and seeded noise fills in the rest, traced at even heights the way a survey map is.

Plate I · AlleghenyA dissected plateau of hills and hollows.
Plate II · ConfluenceTwo valleys meeting, as the Allegheny and Monongahela do.
Plate III · Lake EffectContours stretched by a west wind off Lake Erie.
Plate IV · SpectacleOrange groves in rows and a road lined with palms, below foothills and snow-capped peaks, as around Redlands.
Plate V · BalconesLimestone hills in stair steps along a spring-fed river, as at Wimberley.
Plate VI · ResilienceA neighborhood below the river, behind levees and a rebuilt floodwall, as in the Lower Ninth Ward.
Plate VII · Babalon WorkingA worn crater with a small one across its rim, as at Parsons on the far side of the Moon, named for Jack Parsons, a founder of JPL. -
Drawn live
The first three plates also draw themselves on the home page, from the same recipes. Press New seed there for ground that has never been drawn before.

Sound Plate I · Root396 Hz on the round plate. Muladhara.
Sound Plate II · Sacral417 Hz on the round plate. Svadhisthana.
Sound Plate III · Solar plexus528 Hz on the round plate. Manipura.
Sound Plate IV · Heart639 Hz on the round plate. Anahata.
Sound Plate V · Throat741 Hz on the round plate. Vishuddha.
Sound Plate VI · Third eye852 Hz on the round plate. Ajna.
Sound Plate VII · Crown963 Hz on the round plate. Sahasrara. -
Play them
Each figure is one tone. Play any of the seven, or any tone you like, and watch the sand find the lines that stay still.

Printed to order
Each plate is printed when it's ordered. The store has what's ready now, and new plates open to newsletter readers first.
For the math lovers, each shirt and hoodie comes two ways: the plate alone, or with its equations.
